Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss
Eldritch relics, ritual props and sunken-base interiors for a Lovecraftian investigation game set deep beneath the ocean. Every asset had to feel ancient, wrong and real at the same time.
Game
Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S)
Genre
Lovecraftian investigation adventure
Our scope
Hero props, occult relics and modular base interiors
The challenge
The game asks players to examine strange objects up close in a dark, wet world. Relics needed a believable history of wear, stone and metal had to read under murky underwater lighting, and the base had to feel man-made next to the alien carvings around it.
How we delivered
We sculpted the occult relics, obelisks, coins and organic ornaments in high detail, baked them to game-ready meshes, and textured them with layered corrosion, grime and subtle emissive glows. For the sunken base we built modular corridor and airlock pieces that snap together on a grid, so level designers could lay out new spaces quickly.
